KNIFE IN THE WATER
Hi everyone. I`m not really
sure about my favorite movie, I think that I don't have (it), but i will ( I am going to) try. I choose "knife in the water"
("Knife in the Water"), the first film of Roman Polanski (also as co-written) (writter). Knife
in the Water ("Knife in the Water") was nominated for Best
Foreign Language Film at the 1963 Academy Awards, the first Polish production
to receive this kind of recognition. One of the reasons why I like this film cause (is that) there are only three characters:
Andrzej (Leon Stanisław Niemczyk), Krystyna (Jolanta Umecka) and a young man
(Zygmunt Malanowicz) that make (makes) an
incredible psychological atmosphere. A married polish couple pick (picks) up a young man in the road and (they)
invite him on board of their yacht, and
(then) everything happend (happened)
there: psychological tension grows
(increases) as (while) the two men compete
for the woman’s attention. A storm forces them ward
off below (to stay under) deck, and
(so) tension builds to a violent climax in a claustrophobic space. I like the
scene when the young man plays with his pocket knife in his hand, (;) (it) is like a metaphor of the entire movie.
In the Polanski (Polanski's)
debut we can see the elemental characteristics of him: deep situacions (situations), sexual tension and the psychologic (psychological) drama,(they)
are present in all (his) film(films).
I like the others elements like (as) the
music and cinematography. I like (a lot) black and white movies a lot, I don’t feel old see these (when I see them), I feel connected with other time and
other sensibility. I really enjoy watching this movie and I totally recommend this (it) cause
(because) you will having (have) a good
time.
